A Brief History

Before moving to Denver and being purchased by Stan Kroenke, the Colorado Mammoth were the Washington Power (2001to 2002), the Pittsburgh CrosseFire (2000), and the Baltimore Thunder (1987 to 1999). The Thunder were inaugural members of the National Lacrosse League which was founded in 1986 but began play in 1987.

The Mammoth have been very successful, winning the league title twice (2006 and 2022) and has missed the playoffs only once since moving to Colorado.

In 2004 and from 2006 to 2008, the Mammoth lead the league in attendance.
